台灣民間信仰認為七娘媽為幼兒的守護神，」每年到廟中祭拜以祈求孩子能夠順利長大。自孩童值年十六歲會舉辦成年禮，俗稱「七娘媽生，做十六歲」，

Taiwanese folk beliefs consider the Seven Maidens Goddess to be the guardian deity of young children. People visit temples annually to pray for their children's healthy growth. A coming-of-age ceremony is held when a child turns sixteen, a custom known as "Seven Maidens Goddess's birth, sixteenth birthday celebration."

意義在於孩童成年，承擔家庭生計與社會責任，並準備成家立業。發展至今，此儀式於2008年登錄為直轄市定民俗，形成臺南地區特有的民俗活動。

The significance lies in the fact that children reach adulthood, shoulder family responsibilities and social obligations, and prepare to start their own families and careers. Developed to the point that this ceremony was registered as a municipal custom in 2008, it has become a unique folk activity in the Tainan area.

今年和新光三越小北門百貨公司合作將做十六歲成年禮儀式首次移至百貨公司廣場舉辦

This year, in collaboration with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xiaobeimen Department Store, the 16th birthday coming-of-age ceremony will be held for the first time at the department store plaza.

並恭迎全台西來庵神祇至新光三越小北門設行館駐駕，舉行「做十六成年禮祈福儀式」於8月19日登場。

They will also respectfully welcome the deities of Xilai Temple from all over Taiwan to set up a temporary residence at the North Gate of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, where a "Coming-of-Age Ceremony for Sixteen Years" will be held on August 19th.
