Taiwan has a rich history and diverse culture. In particular, Tainan, known as the cultural capital of Taiwan, embodies the coexistence of various cultures, including Indigenous traditions, Dutch colonial heritage, the Ming Zheng regime, the Qing Dynasty, Japanese rule, and contemporary society. Among these, Taiwan’s religious practices and Dutch colonial history have played a significant role in shaping the country's development.
Through on-site visits and immersive experiences, international youth from around the world will gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s historical context and personally experience the unique cultural charm of this land.
Anping Old Fort
◆Visit the remains of the fort built by the Dutch and explore the historical connection between the Dutch and Taiwan
◆Understand the multicultural background of Anping as the birthplace of Taiwan’s history
Sword Lion Archaeological Site – In Search of Zeelandia
◆ Visit the ruins in the Anping area to learn about the early historical changes in Taiwan
◆ Explore how Taiwan’s early defense systems were integrated with local beliefs (Sword Lion as an evil-warding symbol)
Chenghuang Temple – Ox-Head and Horse-Face Door Gods
◆ Introduction to the significance of City God worship and the traditional folk beliefs in Taiwan
◆ Experience incense burning and blessing rituals to understand Taiwan’s folk belief culture

Mr. Chiu holds a Master’s degree from the Institute of Naval Architecture at National Cheng Kung University. He has worked as a yacht R&D design engineer for the export market, with over a decade of experience in cultural and ecological guided tours. His expertise lies in the study of ships, cultural heritage, and historical monuments. Currently, he serves as a lecturer and guide trainer for the Department of Cultural Affairs and various cultural tourism organizations. Mr. Chiu is also a licensed tour guide for Tainan’s historic sites and an official guide for Michelin Three-Star Tours, organized by the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
