However, the banana industry collapsed rapidly after the 1969 banana peeling incident, leading to a sharp decline in exports. In 2017, Tangchang Community began develop-ing full utilization of bananas with the goals of environmental sustainability and industry transformation. By leveraging community cohesion,they started to transform the industry, showcasing the changes in Qishan bananas to all of Taiwan, and continuously expanding innovative products and deepening experiential education.
