The Qishan sugar industry brought about economic prosperity with the "Ciwei line."As the whistle of the narrow-gauge train sounded, the train carrying sugar, bananas, and people set off, creating a bustling scene in Qishan. Qishan Banana

Qishan, with its unique environment and the railway system established by the sugar industry, became known worldwide as the "Banana Kingdom" in 1963. However, the banana industry collapsed rapidly after the 1969 banana peeling incident, leading to a sharp decline in exports. In 2017, Tangchang Community began develop-ing full utilization of bananas with the goals of environmental sustainability and industry transformation. By leveraging community cohesion,they started to transform the industry, showcasing the changes in Qishan bananas to all of Taiwan, and continuously expanding innovative products and deepening experiential education.
