Yuli, located in Hualien, Taiwan, is blessed with abundant natural resources and a rich, diverse cultural history. This project invites international youth to discover the unique charm of Yuli through immersive experiences and meaningful cultural exchanges.

Our team designed a two-day, one-night experiential module that allows participants experience Yuli's agricultural traditions and Indigenous cultures through hands-on activities and interactive engagement, fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendship.

Module A:“Yuli Rice & Multicultural Culinary Traditions”
Participants will explore the rice fields and learn about the rice-growing cycle—from sowing to harvest—through an“Illustration of Rice Timeline.”This journey also introduces the cultural concept of“Four-Ethnic-Culture Town”, shaped by Yuli’s historical and economic development. The town is home to a rich mix of ethnic groups, including Indigenous peoples, Hoklo, Hakka, mainland Chinese, and new immigrants—all of whom share rice as a culinary staple, showing an abundant food culture.

Module B:“Indigenous Cultural Experiential Trip”
This module takes international youth on a cultural journey guided by tribal elders to the “Mother River” — the Xiuguluan River. Participants will engage in traditional Amis fishing using the“tafukor”technique and learn how the Indigenous people live in harmony with nature.
They will also walk along the quiet hunting trail, observing the environment by following the footsteps of the hunter, and discover the Amis philosophy of respecting the earth, revering nature, and valuing all living things — ultimately gaining a deeper understanding of the interconnected relationship between humans and nature.
